For 2022 we have a grand total of 17,000 LED bulbs. Each bulb has 3 lights in it. This channel count over 51,000
in our display.
The show costs $30 per week to run during the holiday season. The total bill for December 2018 show was around $170, (December 1 to January 5).
We typically start setup in November, and the set-up time always varies; work schedule, temperature, and weather play a big part.
Yes they are. In 2018 we added RGB technology. Each bulb contains 3 colors, red green and blue. This “pixel” technology is very much like what is found in a TV, allowing us to mix millions of color combinations.
Each display prop is modeled in software called Xlight. The program builds-in some very interesting effects and allows us to create an endless amount of options.
After the song is programmed, the computer sends the through the computer’s network port. The data is collected and transferred to the light strings via the lighting controllers. We use the Sandevices, and Kulb pixel controllers. Each prop in the display is connected to a plug on a controller.
